SpaceX has announced that the company is now targeting Sunday, January 15th for the launch of their first Falcon Heavy mission of 2023 - USSF-67 for the US Space Force.

Pre-Launch Operations

The 27 Merlin 1D engines ignited on Tuesday as teams in Firing Room 4 at NASA's historic launch control centre monitored the vehicle's performance to ensure it was within accepted parameters to perform a safe launch for the United States Space Force later in the week.

Following a successful static fire test, teams on the space coast lowered Falcon Heavy and rolled it back to the hangar at pad 39A to be integrated with the classified payload, which was integrated in the fairing in an on-site hangar and also rolled to the 39A Horizontal Integration Facility, or HIF.

Last night, SpaceX rolled out Falcon Heavy to 39A once again for launch, however it never went vertical until 18:10 UTC or 13:10 local time.

SpaceX made the difficult decision to stand down from today's launch attempt, however they have not given a reason for doing so. The next attempt is tomorrow, Sunday 15th at 17:56 local time, 22:56 UTC.
