VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. — The 30th Contracting Squadron (CONS) officially entered a new chapter on June 18, 2026, during a traditional change of command ceremony held at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.
U.S. Air Force Maj. Carla Cimo assumed command of the squadron, taking over the leadership mantle from outgoing commander U.S. Air Force Maj. Corey Arruda.
The Passing of the Guidon
The ceremony was presided over by U.S. Space Force Col. James T. Horne III, commander of Space Launch Delta 30. During the event, Col. Horne passed the squadron guidon to Maj. Cimo, a traditional military gesture that formally symbolizes her assumption of command of the 30th CONS.
Enabling Space Superiority
The 30th CONS plays a vital role in operational readiness and infrastructure management at the California spaceport. The squadron is responsible for supporting various mission partners by acquiring and administering essential contracts.
Through its oversight of service, supply, construction, and Western Spaceport support contracts, the 30th CONS directly ensures that Space Launch Delta 30 can successfully execute its mission to enable space superiority.
