In an email to customers, SpaceX has announced they will be limiting users to 1 Terabyte of data usage per month, if users exceed the 1TB data limit they will be deprioritised during times of network congestion.
This will come into effect in December this year. The company says this will affect "currently < 10% of users".
Once the 1TB threshhold is exceeded, users will be switched to "Basic Access" for the remainder of the billing perior (month). The Basic Access mode deprioritises users during periods of high network congestion, resulting in decreased speeds. However, this does not apply during 11pm and 7am (in the users' respective timezone) - typically a period of lower network activity.
