HyImpulse Issued First Large Rocket Air Navigation Order from CAA

HyImpulse Technologies has received the first Air Navigation Order from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) authorizing them to launch one rocket.

HyImpulse Technologies has received the first Air Navigation Order from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) authorizing them to launch one rocket.

The SR75, a large suborbital sounding rocket will launch from SaxaVord Spaceport no earlier than December 1st, 2023, and must occur before November 30th, 2024. HyImpulse is required to notify the CAA in writing atleast 14 working days prior to a planned launch date.

SR75 is a single stage vehicle designed for microgravity experiments and atmospheric research and is Europe's first sounding rocket with a built in house hybrid rocket motor that uses paraffin and liquid oxygen as its propellants.

HyImpulses SR75 is capable of lifting up to 250kg on a 200km ballistic trajectory and recoverying up to 700kg of mass with its two stage parachute recovery system.

HyImpulse continues to develop their 3 stage orbital small sat launch vehicle, which will be capable of carrying up to 500kg to low earth orbit (LEO). Their orbital rocket will use the same hybrid rocket motors as the SR75

With HyImpulse's SR75 authorized for its first launch, the company is one step closer to opening the UK and Europe's access to suborbital and orbital science and research.
