Denver-based startup True Anomaly has successfully raised $100 million in a Series B funding round, marking a significant milestone for the company as it continues its mission to advance space surveillance technology.

The funding round, announced on December 12, was spearheaded by Riot Ventures and saw the participation of several prominent investors, including Eclipse, ACME Capital, Menlo Ventures, Narya, 645 Ventures, Rocketship.vc, Champion Hill Ventures, and FiveNine Ventures.

"This financing enables continued investment in people, products, and services to further advance True Anomaly’s mission," - Even Rogers, Co-Founder and CEO of True Anomaly

"Doubling down in this round is a reflection of the exceptional execution we’ve witnessed over the last two years. The U.S. and its allies face intense national security challenges in the space domain, and we believe True Anomaly is going to be the company that delivers the core set of capabilities to offset those threats." - Will Coffield, Co-Founder and General Partner at Riot Ventures

"Validates True Anomaly’s traction and also illustrates the team’s ability to scale and execute on product delivery." - Seth Winterroth, Partner at Eclipse

True Anomaly specializes in the development of small satellites designed for surveillance and reconnaissance purposes, with a particular focus on meeting the needs of military and intelligence markets.

In August, True Anomaly unveiled a state-of-the-art 35,000 square-foot facility in Centennial, Colorado, reflecting its commitment to expanding its operational capabilities. Notably, the company has successfully doubled its workforce, growing from 50 to over 100 employees.

Founded in 2022, True Anomaly gained recognition for its innovative spacecraft, named Jackal, designed for rendezvous and proximity operations, as well as in-space surveillance missions.

The company also provides training services tailored for military satellite operators.

"A responsive and agile defense industrial base is essential to provide the tools for deterrence and global security...Space is the newest and most vulnerable theater of contemporary global competition, but the U.S. and its allies are ill-equipped for a conflict that begins in or extends into space." - Even Rogers, Co-Founder and CEO of True Anomaly

True Anomaly has announced that the first two Jackal satellites have completed the build, assembly, and integration phases and are slated to launch aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-10 rideshare mission, tentatively scheduled for no earlier than March 1, 2024.
