SES Space & Defense Secures $46.8 Million Contract to Support U.S. Air Force RPA Training

SES Space & Defense, the U.S. arm of Luxembourg-based satellite operator SES, has secured a $46.8 million contract with the U.S. Air Force.

The multi-year agreement, awarded by the U.S. Air Force’s Air Combat Command, will provide essential geostationary (GEO) Ku-band satellite communications services for the command’s remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) training and testing program.

SES, a prominent player in the satellite communications industry, operates a robust fleet of over 70 satellites in both geostationary and medium Earth orbits.

Under this new contract, SES will utilize its GEO high-throughput satellites to ensure comprehensive ground-to-air and air-to-ground transmissions coverage. The service area encompasses the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska, and the Pacific Ocean, ensuring extensive and reliable communication support for the Air Combat Command's needs.
