Brightline First To Equip Trains With Starlink

FLORIDA - Brightline has announced that it has become the first in its industry to provide Starlink satellite broadband to its customers. The new Starlink service will be deployed on a total of 10 trains that connect various cities across parts of Florida, with the rollout scheduled for this summer (2023).

Brightline revealed that the complimentary Starlink service is already available on five trains connecting Miami and West Palm Beach in southern Florida, with service being added to five more trains as Brightline extends its operations to Orlando in central Florida.

Brightline's integration of Starlink's satellite broadband service is expected to greatly enhance the passenger experience by ensuring reliable and high-speed internet connectivity throughout their journey. 

With the implementation of Starlink, Brightline aims to provide its passengers with seamless connectivity, enabling them to stay connected, work, and enjoy various online activities while onboard. As the first passenger rail company to offer Starlink satellite broadband, Brightline continues to lead the way in revolutionizing the travel industry and enhancing customer satisfaction.

This annoucment marks SpaceX's expansion into another new customer segment since it received regulatory permission on June 30 to connect moving vehicles to Starlink. Having initially focused on residential consumers over two years ago, Starlink has since broadened its reach to include enterprise, government, aviation, maritime, and recreational vehicle markets.
