Terran Orbital Corporation has secured through its subsidiary, Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems a $2.4 billion USD contract to design, build, and deploy 288 + 12 spare low earth orbit satellites for Rivada Space Networks (RSN), a subsidiary of Rivada Networks.

RSN Constellation

The RSN’s space data network constellation is planned to provide ultra-secure and extremely resilient fiber like low latency and gigabit per second data delivery which is like no other system in orbit or currently planned.

The RSN constellation will offer access to a secure satellite network with pole-to-pole reach, offering end-to-end latencies similar to or better than terrestrial fiber. The RSN network will combine inter-satellite links with advanced onboard data routers creating an optical backbone in space to deliver an ultra-secure and highly reliable global data network for business operations in the telecom, enterprise, maritime, energy and government services markets.

With a contract for manufacturing now in place with Terran Orbital Corporation, deployment of the RSN constellation will start in 2025, with goal of 300 satellites (288 plus 12 spares) in orbit by mid 2026.
